Whitford Fine Art is delighted to offer a series of eleven previously unseen late works on paper by Denis Bowen (1921-2006), one of the founders of the New Vision Group and the New Vision Centre Gallery.
Ever inspired by the gestural abstraction of the 'Art Informel' of the 1950s, Bowen combined this with more modern mixed media to give a lava-like, geological tactility to his work. Rich and shimmering, these works are testament to Bowen's enduring fascination with the cosmological and planetary themes he explored from the early 1980s onwards.
