Jeff Lowe is heir to the New Generation Sculptors. Having studied under Anthony Caro, William Tucker, Philip King and Tim Scott, Lowe's vocabulary was formed at the heart of the iconic group that had defined sculpture during the 1960's. Along with Tony Cragg and Nicholas Pope, Lowe worked in a style which was at the time known as New Wave Sculpture. Often described as an abstract artist, a term he isn't particularly fond of, Lowe describes his work as "It's very much about finding and discovering things through making. I don't do it by sitting down and thinking about it
I do it by standing in front of something I am making and analysing what's happening in front of my eyes."
