By the late 1950's, Arman had moved away from traditional painting and sculpture in favour of the object and specifically of the ready-made. The objects used by Arman were extremely diverse, but were always familiar things collected in considerable quantities. His famous 'Accumulations' were collections of common and identical objects which he arranged in polyester castings or within Plexiglas cases. His first welded accumulations were created in 1962. The accumulations are Pop in outlook and Deconstructivist in spirit. Arman's work can be found in many collections worldwide, including: Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Musée Royaux des Beaux-Arts, Brussels; Musée d'Art Moderne, Gent; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Modern Art Museum, Munich; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Musée des Arts Decoratifs, Paris; Musée National d'Art Moderne, Paris; Museo Civico di Torino, Turin
