Composition 03.1965 illustrates several statements on Caziel's abstract work, bringing back the passionate debates of the post-war period and Caziel's affiliations with an earlier avant-garde tradition. In 1951, Caziel more or less gave up figuration and joined the 'Groupe Espace'. When the legendary Cubist art dealer Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler expressed his wish to include Caziel in his stable of figurative artists headed by Picasso, he assumed Caziel's abstract work to be an experiment from which he would return to figuration. Caziel, however, insisted 'Non, je suis abstrait' (No, I am Abstract), and remained an abstractionist for the rest of his life.
Caziel exhibited at Galerie Allard (1947) and Bernheim Jeune in Paris (1948) and at the Grabowski Gallery in London (1966 and 1968). A major retrospective of his work was hosted by the National Museum of Warsaw in 1998.
Caziel's work is represented in the collection of the following museums: Musée National d'Art Moderne, Paris, National Museum, Warsaw, Vatican Museum, Rome.
